Bruichladdich Distillery

We have a 15-year Bruichladdich since about two years in our collection. It is a complex, typical, but not extreme, Islay whisky: peat and fire, spicy, fruity, ...
Now the chance to see the distillery IRL. The weather was sunny and cloudy like most of the time, the Islay houses shining bright white, the air fresh and so good.
Yes, Bruichladdich has a visitor centre and is open on Saturdays. And the lady who guided our tour was talking fast in her Islay dialect, and she was full of humor. So much to laugh. - She wanted to have us sign a contract for a cask of Bruichladdich (a "future") and one of the other guests was near to sign it - we did not (why? don't know for sure - it is a good offer, I am sure - see their web site if you are interested)

We made the tour and it was definitely great. The complete site is in consistent colors (corporate identity like it should be). Some of the equipment and machinery is very old, like the wooden transportation facility. They try to use the old process as original as possible. No colouring, no chill-filtering. And they have their own bottling (the only one on Islay).
We got two different whiskies for nosing and tasting. The tasting session in the large open wooden room was quite an experience of its own. Finally we bought two bottles: The Infinity and the Mòine Mhòr.
