Strathisla Distillery

This is one of the most beautiful distilleries. We know the whisky quite some time. When we learned that it is the main component of Angelika's favorite blended whisky, the Chivas Regal, we got interested in this single malt.
After the tour I made a large format photograph of the pagoda building (kiln). But I inserted the film holder upside down, without taking notice, so in the end not only the Strathisla, but also one of the Dalmore photos were ruined. What a pity.

Strathisla is not only exceptional beautiful, it also gave us a very special guided tour: The guide was in this case not a more or less comprehensively trained young person (mostly more), but a retired worker of the very Strathisla distillery. Of course this fact made the tour extremely interesting. He could narrate directly from his rich experience and told us a number of episodes and anecdotes. Also he had a more elementary sense of humour. Very good. From the shop we bought two bottles of cask strength, both in the same design, age and price, but different years and strengths.
